Shawnee Academy’s hiring process includes a criminal record check, child abuse history clearance, physical examination, relevant transcript and certification requirements and a comprehensive orientation program. Throughout the year training and workshops are continually provided to staff to achieve our mission and goals with compassionate care. Shawnee Academy offers one of the most comprehensive and generous benefits packages in the county including tuition reimbursement.

Mental Health Technicians  
Shawnee Academy seeks Mental Health Technicians to provide supervision and guidance to special needs children and adolescents in its residential treatment facility for 1st and 2nd shifts.  A High School Diploma or a Bachelor's Degree plus 1-2 years experience with children / adolescents preferred.  Must pass criminal and child abuse background checks.  Comprehensive benefit package.  EOE, M/F/D/V.  Fax resume to 570-420-0997 or e-mail: whealey@shawneeacademy.org.

Mental Health Supervisor  
Shawnee Academy seeks a Mental Health Supervisor to direct and coordinate activities of Mental Health Technicians.  Responsible for ensuring that services are provided to clients in accordance with Shawnee Academy's policies, goals and objectives.  Promotes effective employee relations through open communications and commitment to the development of direct care staff.

Clinician  
Shawnee Academy seeks a full-time Masters-level therapist to provide clinical case management for children and adolescents in its residential treatment facility. Responsible for individual, group and family therapy.  MA in Psychology, Counseling or MSW required.  Licensed Clinicians preferred.  Minimum two years' experience with children/adolescents in a residential setting is required.

Drug and Alcohol Addictions Counselor (Consultant)
Shawnee Academy and The Beacon School seek a part-time counselor.  This independent contracted counselor will provide assessment and counseling services to children in the residential treatment facility and alternative education programs that are experiencing chemical abuse, dependency, or related problems.  Sixteen hours per week, Mon. - Fri., ability to flex schedule between 8am - 4pm. Insurance and previous contract experience, and a minimum of four years experience working with children, adolescents, and families, including group counseling, is required.  Current CAC with a Bachelor's degree is required.  Master's degree preferred.  Knowledge of ASAM and LOCI-28 criteria.  Familiarity with DSM-IV and dual diagnosis patients is preferred.  EOE, M/F/D/V.  Fax resume to 570-420-0997 or e-mail: whealey@shawneeacademy.org.
