The Shawnee Academy is located on a rural modern campus boasting 40 acres adjacent to the Delaware River. The Main Building is a 30,000 square foot one story building and houses the Residential Program, Administrative and Clinical Offices and the Cafeteria which is adjacent to an outdoor Central Atrium. The Residential Program area includes client bedrooms with private bath, activity rooms, a nurses' station and examination room, laundry facilities and an Intensive Instructional Support Classroom. The Lenape Program building houses an intensive residential program and contains client bedrooms, bathrooms, activity room, laundry facility, kitchen area and a classroom.
Three separate Education buildings provide Special Education and Alternative Education services to both residential and day students. A full size gymnasium, weight room, twenty classrooms, a computer lab, science lab, home economics, art room, music room, offices and a Staff Training room are all housed in the Education buildings
The Shawnee Academy also has a two acre High and Low Ropes Challenge Course constructed in 2003. Located in a wooded area behind our Education buildings, the adventure based ropes challenge course offers individual and team confidence building activities instructed by certified staff. Two softball fields, multiple hiking trails and canoe/fishing access to the Delaware river are also part of the Shawnee Academy facility.
